Uploading Images
Uploading images using the Flash Uploader
The PhotoShelter Flash-based uploader makes it easy for you to upload multiple images at once. You do not need to download any software to your desktop in order to use this uploader.
Selecting Images
To select the images you wish to upload, press the "Add File" button. You will be presented with a dialog box which will allow you to select the files you wish to upload. You can repeat this process multiple times if you wish to add files from different directories mon your hard drive.
You can also add files to the queue after the upload has begun or even after the upload has finished (you can then restart the upload).
Please note that you may only upload images to the root-level folders in your Archive Browser. If you want to use the Flash Uploader to upload batches of images to a subfolder, you must first navigate to that particular subfolder in your Archive Browser and use the "Upload To This Folder" button above the image thumbnails.
The Upload Queue
As you select images to be uploaded, you will see them being added to the upload queue. You can remove unwanted files from the queue by pressing the trash can icon to the right of each file.
Initiating Upload
To begin uploading your images, press the "Begin Upload" button. This should initiate the upload process. Once the upload begins, the queue will display the progress of each file as well as the overall progress of the entire upload.
Errors
If there are any errors uploading any of your images, the corresponding item in the queue will turn red. You can inspect the error(s) by clicking on the arrow or text that displays the number of errors for that image. The uploader will continue to upload the rest of the images even if one of the images has an error.
If for some reason you lose network connectivity, we will pause your upload and you will be able to resume the upload once you have restored your network connectivity. However, please note that if network connectivity is lost for an extended period of time the upload function may stop completely. Once your network is restored you will need to resume the uploading process. If you have an unstable network and this happens repeatedly, you are most likely best served by using the Desktop Uploader
