Overview
One of PhotoShelter's greatest strengths is our ability to provide myriad tools for delivering images to others. To help you find the method that's best for you, here's a snapshot of the variety of ways PhotoShelter can help you deliver images to your clients, family/friends, staff, etc.:
- My Website
Your website, managed through the "My Website" tab in your Photographer Area, is the public face for your PhotoShelter images. You may create a site from scratch, customize your PhotoShelter pages to blend in with an existing website, or use one of our ready-made design themes. From your website, clients may view galleries, create their own lightboxes that they can share back with you, and download, buy, and search for images where you allow it. Many users choose to send their clients directly to their websites and let the sites do the talking.
- Gallery
A gallery is the most basic grouping of images you intend to share with others, whether it be listed on your site or delivered via invitation. When sharing a gallery with your clients, you may send them a gallery invite or send them a direct link to the gallery on your site. You may allow them to download images when you initiate the gallery invite — or, if you don't want your clients to have to log in, you can allow them to download anonymously from a password-protected gallery. Read more on galleries.
- Lightbox
Lightboxes — groupings of images created by you or your clients — are best used to edit selects and collaborate using ratings and comments. If you allow it, your clients may also download or purchase images directly from a lightbox. More on lightboxes.
- Trusted Client Download
Using the Address Book, you may assign Trusted Client Download permission to those clients who need full access to your public archive. Once a Trusted Client logs in, he or she can download the high-res version of any image he or she can view. These downloads are tracked in your Image Statistics for your records.
- Quick Download
Ever need to send a high-res file to a client as a one-off? Generate a Quick Download to send an encrypted URL that allows for a single, easy, login-free hi-res download.
- FTP Images
Send archive or gallery images to a client via FTP (File Transfer Protocol) — a method popular amongst editorial photographers. Add clients to your FTP address book for distribution en masse.
- Image Sales
To deliver an image only at the point of sale, you may price your images for prints or products Automated Fulfillment, Self Fulfillment, or Royalty-Free, Rights-Managed, or Personal Use Download. We'll send the image to the client once they've paid. To send a one-off license for which your client can pay with a credit card or via offline invoice, try the Instant Sale!
