Sorting/Sequencing Images
Gallery Sequencing
PhotoShelter allows you to sort images in your galleries by a variety of means:- File Name
- Date Added
- Gallery Date Added
- Custom Sort
Furthermore, you can flip the direction "forward" or "reverse" for any of the four aforementioned orders.
To sort by a particular means, use the select menus located in the upper left while viewing any gallery from the Photographer Area.
The order in which the images appear in the Photographer's Area is the same order that the images will appear when you allow others to see the gallery.
Custom Sorting
The order of images in a gallery can have a profound affect on the way the collection is perceived. This is particularly true for photo stories. By default, PhotoShelter sequences the images by the time they were uploaded, however, you can create a custom sequence.
How do I sequence my images
- Click on the Gallery tab
- Click on a specific gallery
- Near the top right, there is a series of links under "Sort by:" Click "Custom Order".
- Click "Edit custom order"
When you click "custom," a page containing all the images will load. Once all the thumbnails are visible, you can drag and drop the images into a custom sequence. When you are done, click submit.
You must wait for all the images to load before you can begin sequencing the images.
The sort order begins at the upper left corner and moves left to right. The images are numbered in the lower left of each frame. As you drag images into different positions, the number will update. When you make a change to the sequence, the "Update" button at the bottom of the screen becomes available to save your changes.
