The government is trying to get the residents of the favela to leave their homes so the land, which is adjacent to wealthy areas, can be redeveloped. Mokaua is from the Northeast of Brazil. She left her grandmother who raised her to live with a man she met on the internet. This is her first time living in a favela and she wants to leave and return home but she is underage so she needs permission to travel from her guardian. Alison's mother works at a nearby restaurant during the daytime so she must leave her sons alone at home.
