This picture of the Texas State Capitol building in Austin was taken from the Outdoor Rotunda, looking south. This circular hole in the ground is a clever design that mirrors the actual capitol rotunda, and is appropriately known as the "inside-out, upside-down capitol". The outdoor rotunda is part of the underground capitol extension, completed in 1995, and the original state capitol building shown here was completed in 1888.
