Our actual conversation revealed so much more; we learned from Stacy about the serious problems facing disabled veterans today, her work to bring their stories to light, and how she's using her photography to make a difference.

Stacy Pearsall is a two-time winner of the Military Photographer of the Year award. She did three tours of duty in Iraq and is dealing with lingering physical and mental injuries resulting from two encounters with improvised explosive devices - the second of which ended her military career.

The details of Stacy's story are hardly unique, and they will make you mad.

Magnum Photos has partnered with HP, PhotoShelter and Blurb to present the 2010 Magnum Expression Award. A jury of some of Magnum's finest photographers including Jim Goldberg, Trent Parke, Martin Parr, Mark Power and Louis Kim will judge the final photos.
