Bio

John began writing and photographing in elementary school, publishing and selling his own newspaper at age 10. He has been a professional photographer for over 35 years. He is experienced in wedding, portrait, boudoir, commercial, editorial, and fine art photography. He is the author of "Digital Boudoir Photography: A Step-By-Step Guide to Creating Fabulous Images of Any Woman", and is working on his second book. He has been working in various aspects of digital photography since 1991, starting in Photoshop 2.5! His studio is located in the redwood forests of No California.
John is involved in a number of local community activities including Treasurer of the Occidental Chamber of Commerce, a firefighter with the Occidental Volunteer Fire Dept, and a member of the Prof Photogr of the Redwood Empire. John also writes a biweekly newspaper section and a monthly column. He has been: Acting Chrmn of the Board, Acting Pres, 1st VP, 2nd VP, and Treasurer of the Prof Photogr of California (PPC); Controller and Convention Chrmn of the West States Convention and Photo Expo for seven years; Pres, VP, Treasurer, and Editor of the San Fernando Valley Prof Photogr; Dir and Editor of the Prof Photogr of LA County (PPLAC), Pres, VP, Treasurer, and Editor of the San Gabriel Valley chapter of the Data Processing Management Assoc. He maintains memberships in the San Fernando Valley Prof Photogr (SFVPP), the Prof Photogr of the Redwood Empire (PPRE), the Prof Photogr of America (PPA), Editorial Photogr (EP), the American Society of Media Photographers (ASMP), and CreativeEye (CE), a photographers cooperative.
John was named the Photographer of the Year and the Wedding Photographer of the Year twice in 5 No Calif counties. He received the Business and Arts Degree and Service Award as well as two President's Awards from PPC. John holds a BS in Civil-Environmental Engineering from UC Irvine, and a MBA from Pepperdine University.
