Acclaimed photographer and photojournalist Cathie Archbould creates strong vivid images of Canada's north, with a passionate eye for the people and land. Based in Whitehorse, Yukon Territory, Cathie photographs the North with a passion that could only come from doing what you love - living large in one of Canada's last frontiers. Departing big-city life, Cathie left her work freelancing with the Globe and Mail, National Post and Toronto Star, to become the most prolific photographer north of 60. With 17 years of experience in corporate, commercial, industrial and editorial photography, Cathie has developed a reputation for capturing the essence of the natural and built environment.

Her vast experience spans location and site work, environmental portraiture and landscapes, eco-tourism, commercial and industrial documentation, creative advertising campaigns, annual reports and aerial photography. Cathie's work is a study in extremes: one week she's driving 5 hrs into a mine to photograph a reclamation project, the next she's setting up a wall tent on the Dempster Highway, her Blue Heeler warding off animals throughout the night, hiking into a communications tower shoot the next morning, and the third week she's back in Whitehorse, photographing a quit smoking campaign for the territorial government.
