Bio
I am a credentialed photojournalist with the East Iowa Herald and the Observer News of Florida and am member of the National Press Photographers Association and the Society of Professional Journalists.
I have documented hundreds of lives and events over the past several years. The one comment I hear most often is, "It's like you've known them all of your life!" I work hard to ensure the images and words accurately portray my subject. I want to make certain the feelings and passion are there as well. I have covered happiness, sadness and heroes - real life heroes. I understand the responsibility and I never take it for granted.
I covered President George W. Bush on the horrible day of September 11, 2001 and I have covered an absolute inspiration of a man with Parkinson's Disease. I have also covered the beauty of America and her people along with the beauty of the world.
I am fully digital with the latest in professional Canon cameras and equipment. I have a mobile studio as well as a complete video editing suite and the technology to transmit from virtually anywhere.
I am also an experienced traveler - from Europe to Cuba to great cities to the backroads of rural America, I am able to provide professional service in a time sensitive manner.
Over the past few years, I have won 41 awards for excellence in editorial writing and photography.
I am based in both Iowa and the Washington, D.C. area and am available for freelance assignments around the country or around the world.
