Todd Shapera is a sensitive and worldly photographer. His elegant and relaxed images capture contemplative, loving, and whimsical moments.
In a recent profile, Professional Photographer magazine wrote: "Todd Shapera is driven by a passion to capture the inner beauty and resilience of individuals just about everywhere on earth. He is linking disparate worlds through photography."
Todd’s portfolio includes a decade of published work from remote global locations: Sri Lankan Tsunami survivors, Peruvian coffee farmers, Himalayan women, Honduran Moskito Indians, the Chilean Andes, Siberia's Lake Baikal, Yukon rivers, and social conservation programs in Central American rainforests.
Publications have included The New York Times, The Financial Times of London, Forbes Global, Fast Company, Saveur, Ritz Carlton Magazine, Gastronomica, DoubleTake, World I, The Far East Economic Review, and more.
Foundation clients have included Clinton,Ford, Rockefeller, and Robert Wood Johnson Foundations, and Ecologic Development Fund. He also photographes for Omega Institute, Rye Country Day School, and CityYear.
Todd teaches photography to adults and children at Omega Institute’s campuses in Costa Rica and Rhinebeck, New York. He works out of a lower Hudson Valley farm house with his daughter and two labs.
