2011 Earthquake effects in Tokyo(28 images)

A magnitude 8.9 earthquake hit the Tohoku area of north east Japan at 2:46pm on March 11th 2011. The tremors were felt in Tokyo causing the rail networks to stop and mobile phone systems to crash trapping many people in the city centre overnight.
