  • Venice, California, USA - A woman wearing pasties rides on the Venice Beach bike path on National Go Topless Protest Day in Venice Beach. According to the website GoTopless.org, women across the nation are encouraged to bare their breasts. The site claims that since men are legally allowed to bare their chests, women should have the equal protection under the law and be allowed to do the same via the 14th Amendment. Women participating in the protest cover the nipples with nipple pasties so they do not get arrested.

  • Jul 16, 2007 - Venice Beach, CA, USA - The Venice sign has returned to Windward Avenue after being taken down in the 1940's. It is a copy of the historical Venice sign that hung across Windward Avenue, a block from the entrance to Venice Beach. The effort to bring back the sign was secured by a beautification grant from the City of Los Angeles for the project in 2004 and began the Venice Sign Restoration Project.
