Romance, Relaxation and Rejuvenation in Kerala, South India.

Slowly meandering along the rivers, lakes, lagoons and small canals in a traditional Kettuvallom (houseboat) brings you close to village life, local tradition and culture. More important though is the absolute, utter true sense of romance you feel. From private air conditioned quarters with ensuite, to a personal staff of three, to some of the most delicately delicious food to be imagined, there is no other place to be!
A solitary pond heron breaks the early morning stillness as a dugout canoe, paddled by two fishermen, glides across the water at a determined yet unhurried pace. Bird's singing, fish jumping, silence and serenity are the backwater experience. Romantic? Without a doubt! The air is hot and humid, but the backwater is sweet and silky soft. A dip in the lake releases mind and body. If there is a heaven, than this certainly steps up to the plate!

The only way in is by boat. The air is hot and humid but the vast expanse of waterways gives breath and release from the heat. Butterflies and exotic birds fill the sky while gentle waves brush along the shore. At Coconut Lagoon nature is in charge. Our hammock awaits us with a view of Vembanad Lake in the foreground. In the lagoon all is peaceful, serene and unimposing. We will feast on the delicacies of the sea then disappear into a storybook fantasy where all is possible and our imagination takes front stage.
