PhotoShelter Expands Executive Team, Appoints Monika Smyczek as VP of Product

New York, NY — PhotoShelter, the leading digital asset management platform for visual storytellers, today announced the hiring of Monika Smyczek as Vice President of Product. Smyczek brings valuable experience from years of product leadership at WebMD. Her vision and talent will serve to lead product development as the company continues to build innovative solutions for creative teams and independent creators.

As the head of the Consumer Services product team at WebMD, Smyczek led a diverse portfolio of innovative consumer products, including WebMD Care and Vitals. Before joining WebMD, Smyczek co-founded CultureConnect, a platform for museums to build their own mobile apps, which was ultimately acquired by Axiell in 2020.

Smyczek is set to build on PhotoShelter’s 2020 product updates, including SEO improvements for photographer websites, a slate of powerful new integrations for brands, and a cutting-edge artificial intelligence solution to streamline creative workflows. In the coming year, PhotoShelter will roll out new features to help photographers fuel their businesses, and cutting-edge digital asset management tools for brands, including additional integrations with popular marketing tools, messaging platforms, and content management systems. The company also plans to enhance its artificial intelligence technology and build an even more effective workflow tool for creative teams, helping them save time and focus on creative projects.

“I am incredibly excited to join the team at PhotoShelter and play an integral role in the future of this powerful product,” says Monika Smyczek. “PhotoShelter is an extraordinary tool for creative teams and I look forward to continuing to build innovative solutions for our clients.”

“We are thrilled to welcome Monika to our team,” says PhotoShelter CEO Andrew Fingerman. “Her demonstrated leadership and expertise will be invaluable to PhotoShelter as we work to revolutionize our product and continue to build powerful workflow solutions for our creative clients.”
